July Diary 2018
on 23th and 24th July two of our gas safe registered engineers attended Worcester Bosch manufacturer training course s. They learned about new products, servicing, repairs, commissioning and installation tips. Its a valuable experience for our new recruit and experienced engineers to get into manufacturer training. Next they are going for Glow Worm training soon.
on 25th July we attended to fix a kitchen sink leak in Oadby. It was fixed and cleared the blockage on the first visit. We installed an out side garden tap in Wigston and replaced his extractor fan in the Bathroom. We were called out to repair a water leak in Evington. It was fixed by a plumber who works for a large company and our customer paid over £350. But the original leak was never fixed. On the arrival we identified the source of leak in no time and it was fixed with in one hour. A simple fix, replaced flexible tap connector and new brass shank bottom entry valve installed. Our customer was very happy. Still waiting for her review. Will publish her review. We always tend to use brass shank toilet fill valves, Over time plastic shank valves start to brittle, it causes water to escape from the joint. It’s a common problem our plumbers fix more or less every day.
On 26th July we attended a home in Birstall to repair 2 toilets. One was not filling fast enough and the other was completely broken. Thankfully we had all the parts available in our van and job completed on the first visit. We attended a home in Mountsorrell to replace like for like Bristan thermostatic bar shower. Part was ordered and fitted next day. we had a call from a customer in Eveington that her boiler is not working on hot water. We replaced her faulty programmer from our van stock and the job was completed with in an hour.We also attended an out of hour emergency call to install a new gas line . We ran new gas line from the meter to boiler.Job was attended at 7 pm in the evening and completed by 10 pm at night. What a day.
On 27th July we serviced a Worcester Bosch 30 CDi combi boiler and gas fire in Knighton. A home owner in Rushey Mead called us to fix toilet problem. We replaced bottom entry fill valve and syphon in the toilet cistern and repaired a leaking tap in the same property. We visited a home in Oadby to fix intermittent toilet flushing problem. Replaced syphone. We also helped another customer in Braunstone to replace her main stop tap. We replaced her old stop tap and installed a remote Sure Stop tap for her. This is very good where access is restricted. Just a touch of a button it cuts off the water supply. We went to Aylestone to fix a not flushing toilet. It was attend by another plumber and could not fix it. Its a Macdee Pneumatic dual flush valve problem. One of the tube was broken and fixed on the first visit thanks to our toilet spares in our van.
